In recent days, the “handheld gps jammer” topic on the car of the magistrate “Di Matteo” has returned to fashion. The topic deserves further study with experts in the sector, not with politicians ready to speak out to gain some consensus here and there.
We premise that, EVERY jammer device is NOT good for the human body, the greater the power and correspondingly more it will harm the health more. Erroneously from what was declared by Undersecretary of Defense Gioacchino Alfano: “The types of jammers (called jammers) used by the Italian military in operational theaters (including Afghanistan) are of medium and small capacity”. And again: “the systems do not harm the health of people (operators and strangers), thanks to the limited power”, is an inaccuracy resulting from lack of competence, as well as ignorance.
The “bomb jammers”, the real ones, not the imaginary ones, MUST necessarily have a power output such as to be able to neutralize any radio transmission within the range of action set as safety; generally speaking of 100-1,000 meters. To be able to disturb such a large area, it is necessary to have an output power ranging from 25-200W per channel; that added to all the necessary frequency cuts, you can easily get a device of 1.000W of power! Installing a device with less power means making it useless.
The military who use the “military jammer“, as indeed the various American presidents, visiting foreign lands, install them on separate special vehicles. In a nutshell, if you want to give “Di Matteo” a Bomb jammer, you should first think about providing a new car specifically for installing the device.
This is not only because continuous exposure to these waves hurts; but also because the Bomb Jammers are devices of a certain size which also require a separate power supply.
We were stunned to read these statements from an undersecretary of defense, we are surprised by the lack of competence and superficiality with which this topic was addressed.
